Confusing 44 year old man!?

He is a divorcee, whom when i met him was in another rocky relationship. We were seeing each other for over 8 month's , although, it quickly became not so exciting anymore, I wanted to stick it out b/c (we work together).I knew it was going to end, but i still wanted some sort of friendship. He of course took me for granted and i called him out on it (via text). He did apologize but at this point! it just had no more spunk! He was the one who wanted us to end things , which i wholeheartedly agreed. Now he avoids me like the plague..doesn't want to even say HI & that makes me feel uncomfortable. I figured, things weren't that bad....anyways, i know i shouldn't care ..but he's acting like an INFANT! opinions, thoughts etc...
