Would I (single divorcee) and my 2 British children have a chance for a Council Estate entitlement in UK?

I am a divorced mum of 2 British children and currently living in the UAE. I am already thinking about my kids' future and hoping to move to UK in the soonest time possible. My knowledge of the legalities on this matter is scarce and people would advice to marry a British national, which I think is NOT the major solution if moral and emotional concerns are to be considered. It's not like picking a cereal box from the grocery shelf onto your shopping trolley! I will be thankful to God if there will be someone who knows how to love and respect that will come to my family's life, in all honesty. But right now at this very moment I am thinking of the best future I could give my beloved children as they are the ones that keeps me going. Will appreciate all your answers and thanks to you all!
